Piper was the runt of an 8 pupper litter. She was born on a farm to a great pyreneese mom and a rhodesian ridgeback dad, both weighing in over 100lbs! Her siblings were split up all over the country in an attempt to rescue each one. Piper was lucky enough to be fostered alongside her brother with Blue Dog Rescue, right here in Austin, TX. While being fostered, her and her brother were named Jack & Jill! Super cute duo.
Her soon to be mom, Sami was on the hunt for a good pupper in need of a home. For months, Sami would ask anyone with a dog, "How much does your dog weigh?". She was trying to determine the size best suited to her. After interviewing countless strangers and getting lots of practice pets in, Sami decided she wanted a puppy that would grow into a 40lb doggo. Sami started communications with Kathy at Blue Dog Rescue . Check them out because they are wonderful big hearted people that will help you find your bestie!

When Blue Dog Rescue introduced Sami to Piper, they told her Piper would grow larger than 40lbs. Sami hardly even heard these words because she had already fallen so madly in love with her new best friend. The waiting period was excruciating. Sami had no idea how much work would go into raising a well behaved pupper that would be as tall as her kitchen counters in just a few months time. Meanwhile, Piper was dreaming of what her life would be like with her new best friend and mom. It was nothing like she dreamed. It was better.

There were comedic hiccups for a single puppy mom with the tallest pupper in the world growing up in a tiny space. Piper passed that 40lb threshold in just a few months. By the time she turned 2, Piper had reached 84lbs! She spent those 2 years trying out different treats, toys, harnesses, leashes, and more. She needed to know what could hold up to her active and strong personality. Now Piper can share those favorites with you! She's so excited to have her website PiperLongstocking.com to share her favorite things with all of you! Piper's days are spent exploring Austin,TX and the surrounding areas. Her favorite place is Walnut Creek, where she can run fast off leash and splash with her new friends! She loves to swim and will float the rivers south of Austin, every chance she gets! If there is a pool, she is in it. On top of all that, Piper trains with her mom for distance runs getting an average of 20 miles in per week! Piper, what a life you live. We are so grateful for the joy you bring us all!
